The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss regime initially created by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a weight reduction diet, however many zone diet fans find that they manage to lose a few pounds by following the zone diet.
The supposed science behind the Zone Diet is that if you were to control the secretion of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a consequence puts the body in a state of balance that is far more wholesome than usual, which is known as the zone.
Sears alleges that when your body is in this 'zone' it is working at its most efficient and, as a consequence, does not build up layers of fat.
The key process of the zone diet is to monitor and control the ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take plenty of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.

2 pt Strawberries

1/4 To 1/2 cup sugar

2 tb Lemon juice

1 ts Very finely minced thyme

2 c Dry red wine, such as a

-Burgundy or Zinfandel Stem the strawberries. Leave small berries whole; halve or quarter large ones. Place the berries in a bowl and sprinkle with sugar to taste. Combine the lemon juice, thyme and wine, then pour over the strawberries. Refrigerate for least 3 hours++or up to 1 day++before serving. The longer the berries marinate, the more wine-flavored they will become. Serves 4 or 6 (8 as a topping). PER SERVING: 150 calories, 1 g protein, 22 g carbohydrate, 0 g fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 7 mg sodium, 4 g fiber.
