The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet system invented by Dr. arthur agatston, a cardiologist from miami, usa, which encourages that dieters should be eating "good carbs" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston developed his system for his cardiac patients, based on his analysis of scientific studies completed on other nutritional studies.
Approved foods include, broiled ham, turkey bacon, prawns, cottage cheese, pistachios, lowfat milk and some vegatables, such as butter beans, cucumbers and mushrooms.

4poundchicken, whole, or parts
1salt, to taste
1pepper, to taste
3tablespoonbutter, melted
1teaspoontarragon, dried
3tablespoonparsley, fresh, chopped
1/3cupwine, dry white

Directions:

Wash and dry chicken, and sprinkle inside and out with salt, pepper and onion salt. Put chicken in cooker, breast side up, brush with butter and sprinkle with parsley and tarragon. Add wine. Cover the slow cooker. Cook on High for about an hour, then turn to Low and continue cooking for 8-10 hours, until chicken is done.

Makes 6 servings.
